Tomorrow my mom is being sealed to her parents:
A Special Day~
To mom and dad are joined today…
A brown-eyed daughter finds her way.
Their Barbara Jean will kneel and bow,
With sealing power to show her how.
Her daughter takes a grandma’s place-
Her grandson, Grandpa’s spot will face.
There will be there the unseen guests,
To bring to all their joy and rest.
Uniting family far and wide-
Eternal shores, Eternal tide.
Lucille and Clyde our love comes through
The Gospel Light shines bright and true.

Love for our Liberties
Watched Katelyn "fiddle" to open an early morning patriotic program in Layton on Independence Day. She was the cutest one with a violin up on stage, all decked out in red, white and blue. The speaker was short but powerful. I pray for our Republic............this the greatest nation on the face of the earth, but taken for granted more often than not.
From there, we went to Kaysville to watch the parade which Katelyn also was in ( her dance group ).....it was wonderful to see how Korean War and Vietnam vets were honored and applauded for as they went by. The weather was made to order for me...............overcast, cool breeze, absolutely perfect to watch a parade in!!!
I love to watch little grandchildren instinctively put their hand over their heart as the pledge of allegiance is said and our Nation's Flag goes by. Happy Birthday USA - May God Bless This Nation and help us remember what is offered to us as citizens of the United States of America.

~ saying goodby to Steve
Great friend and co-worker, Steve T. is leaving for a new position. I've worked with him for 5+ years. He is Jill's age and in fact when to school with Jill at Bountiful High. I think of him almost like one of my kids. He has been so much fun to work with, he has a great sense of humor and such a good young man, husband to his sweet Heidi and dad to Kaitlyn, Michael and Logan. When either one of us has had to vent, we knew the other would listen~likewise when something really hysterical happened in the office-I could count on Steve to GET IT!! and laugh with me~!
I wish him well, he will get to be outside more as he will be working on the Church's rec-camps in the northern Utah area and he has a smile on his face for that and also a spring in his step! Ties will be the exception not the rule from here on out! ~~~ and even though I will miss him so much the no tie thing really brings a "Steve grin"!

The Lord calls~~
Don't ever think just because you are eighty years old that the Lord doesn't have need of you!
My sweet Daddy was called as first counselor in a new bishopric in Coquille, Oregon on Sunday~
He has a great support in Judy, so they both better double-down on their vitamins -
and here we GROW again!
love you Dad, Grandpa and Great-Gandpa!

~ Summer is finally here~
First day of air-conditioning
yep, it went on last Sunday.
Even though the northern part of the state is still under some water, it's time to get out the sun-guard and sunglasses!
Walking during the evening and early morning is now a pleasure, no more ice and snowy sidewalks or cold wind sweeping down from the Rockies!!

~heard her voice on June 2nd
Four years ago, Grandma slipped down to the hospital and quietly tiptoed into the waiting room right next door to the room where something exciting was happening!
All of a sudden the sound of a little baby's voice came down the hallway and thrilled Grandma! (smile) pretty soon.....the new daddy peaked in at me and smiled...."she's here".
Your daddy looked very very happy,
your mommy looked tired but beautiful and
when I held Pretty PEARL, she looked and felt precious!
Happy 4th Birthday Pearl!!
