End of the Blog?

I hate to say goodby to my blogspot, but Facebook & Instagram have taken over.............who knows what new techno-media use will be in vogue next year!! (smile).....I've decided I've enjoyed Cathy Bubert's weekly letters so much while they have been serving in the Long Beach Mission, that I will try and cap the week's activities with a letter to my kids and grandkids.  This is the wave of the future, there are so many things I want to tell them that are important.  I want my legacy to add to the quality of their lives and especially how wonderful the Power of the Gospel can be in their lives, helping them through the good and bad times and enriching their lives beyond what they can imagine.

~Youth Firesides~

A couple of years ago I attended a Book of Mormon Quest Fireside that my daughter, Amy had gone on  with her ward youth ~ it was amazing! ............ I even went so far as to let my own Stake President know how great it was and hoped our ward youth would be able to do this in the future.  Well true to his word, our Youth had the Book of Mormon Quest two weeks ago and listening to them during our ward sacrament meeting, I was thrilled with how their testimonies had grown.
Last night, I attended my grandson's TREK fireside in his stake.........these meetings are unbelievably strong with the Spirit!  Watching the video and seeing these youth and leaders trek 36 miles in pioneer clothes, pulling their handcarts, listening to the stories and miracles that happened along the way ~ especially the power of the Priesthood and appreciation of women i.e., "Women's Pull".............Mason's testimony was succinct and powerful and I will never forget it.  He quoted his mom as saying before he left, "Mason, this is going to be hard, but you can do hard things!"...........He quoted what President Adams, their stake pres. told all of the young men on the TREK about agency.............."We all have free agency....and choices, but there is one thing we have no choice in, that is in the way we treat women".  Then he thanked his grandma for her example, (now I really have a lot to live up to!).....I know that Mason has a testimony of his Savior and loves his family.   As I hugged him before I left, I whispered in his ear....Living the Gospel will bring happiness to you.    The leaders of youth work hard to put on these testimony-building activities.........because they will be our future leaders in the Church.   I think we can all rest easy ~ this generation coming up will do what the Lord asks of them and do it with enthusiasm and great love!
